This page explains exactly what happens to data when you visit akillness.github.io. It lists only the services this site actually loads — nothing is included for the sake of looking thorough.

Who runs this site

This is a personal technical blog written by Jang Young Jeong (Fodev JEO), an AI product engineer based in South Korea. It is not a company. There is no sales funnel, no mailing list, and no user account system.

What this site does not do

  • No accounts. There is nothing to sign up for, so no credentials are stored.
  • No forms. The site collects no names, addresses, or payment details.
  • No newsletter. No email addresses are harvested from visitors.
  • No selling of data. Nothing collected here is sold or traded.
  • No server-side logs owned by me. The site is static and hosted on GitHub Pages; I do not operate a backend that records your requests.

What is collected, and by whom

The site is static HTML, but three third-party services run in your browser. Each is a separate data controller with its own policy.

ServicePurposeData involvedPolicy
Google Analytics 4Aggregate traffic measurement — which posts get read, roughly where readers areCookies, IP address (truncated by Google), page URLs, device and browser typeGoogle Privacy Policy
Google AdSenseDisplays the ads on post pagesCookies and device identifiers used for ad selection and frequency capping; may include personalised advertising where permittedHow Google uses data
Giscus (comments)Comment threads, backed by GitHub DiscussionsOnly if you choose to comment: your GitHub account identity and comment text, stored by GitHubGitHub Privacy Statement

Static assets (fonts, JavaScript libraries) are served from jsDelivr and Google Fonts, which receive your IP address as a technical necessity of delivering the file. Site hosting is GitHub Pages, which may log requests per GitHub’s policy.

Cookies and advertising

Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.

  • You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings.
  • For opt-outs across many networks at once, see aboutads.info or Your Online Choices (EU).
  • Blocking cookies in your browser also works. Nothing on this site breaks if you do — there is no functionality gated behind a cookie.

Where required by law, ad personalisation is limited and a consent mechanism is presented by Google’s own consent management before personalised ads are served.

Comments

Comments are handled by Giscus, which writes them to a GitHub Discussions thread on the site’s repository. That means:

  • Commenting requires a GitHub account and authorising Giscus.
  • Your comment is public and stored by GitHub, not on this site.
  • To delete a comment, edit or remove it in the linked GitHub Discussion, or email me and I will remove it.

Children

This site is aimed at professional software engineers and researchers. It is not directed at children under 13, and no age-gated or child-directed content is published here.

Your rights

Because I hold no database of my own, most requests are best directed at the service that actually holds the data:

  • Analytics and ad data → exercise your rights through Google or use the opt-out links above.
  • Comments → manage them in GitHub Discussions, or email me.
  • Anything else → email akillness38@gmail.com and I will respond.

If you are in the EEA, UK, or a jurisdiction with comparable law (GDPR, CCPA/CPRA), the legal bases relied on are legitimate interest for aggregate analytics and consent for personalised advertising.

Changes

If the set of third-party services changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top is updated. The full edit history of this page is public in the site’s Git repository.
